Thursday Theological Study: “Salvation: a New Look at an Old Idea.” We will read a book by John Killinger entitled, The Changing Face of Salvation. Join Rev. Schuster beginning Jan. 8th at 4:30 p.m. in the Conference Room on Thursdays. Books are available in the church office.
Brown Bag Bible Study: “Dealing with Difficult Texts.” We will delve into some of the biblical inconsistencies and conflicts and compare and contrast the Theology of the Old Testament against the theology of the New Testament. We will reflect upon the theological difference between Paul and Jesus. We will take a look at some of the letters that Paul wrote and compare them to the letters that others wrote in his name. We will look at how Paul changes his point of view; the early Paul and the later Paul. We will consider the differences in theology between Isaiah 1, Isaiah 2, and Isaiah 3. Bring your Bible and your lunch to the Bride’s Room beginning Jan. 7th at noon. The discussion leader is Charles Schuster.
Ecumenical Film Forum: The first Faith and Film Series will begin at John the 23rd Catholic Church on Jan. 9th at 7:00 p.m. It will focus on Eradicating Extreme Poverty and Hunger. Come join us, listen, and prepare to live out the Gospel in God’s world.
A New Earth: A four-week study by Eckhart Tolle will begin at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11th in the Village Commons. Book is available in Fellowship Hall for $9.00.
Men’s Winter Retreat: All men are welcome to join us Jan. 23-25 at the Abbey of St. Walburga. Contact David Dalke, 482-2436 or Michael Paddack, 970-215-2844. Our theme will be “Finding Faith in the Face of Doubt” led by Charles Schuster, David Dalke and Michael Paddack. Cost is $130 payable at the church office, scholarships are available. We will return by Noon on Sunday.
